Framatome and TechnicAtome have announced the acquisition of Segault SAS from Canadian group Velan Inc. Segault designs and manufactures a range of high-performance valves for extreme use situations, particularly in the civil nuclear and defense sectors. This acquisition allows Framatome and TechnicAtome to strengthen their respective sectors of activity. Segault will retain its historical name but has a new visual identity.

Segault's logoFounded in 1921 and located near Paris, France, Segault specializes in the design, qualification and manufacture of a wide range of valves. Segault valves equip the reactor buildings of a quarter of the nuclear power plants in operation worldwide, as well as the nuclear boilers on board submarines and the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.

“We are both delighted and proud to welcome Segault to Framatome. Segault is a key supplier to the nuclear industry, renowned for its expertise in providing valves that meet stringent safety and security requirements,” said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome. “This acquisition is part of our growth strategy and will secure the supply chain for our customers. By integrating these key competencies, we are bolstering our industrial sovereignty and our capacity to meet the critical needs of our sectors of activity. The acquisition of Segault reinforces Framatome’s valves product line.”
“Our relationship with Segault is longstanding as their specialized expertise aligns perfectly with our needs. With this acquisition, we are continuing our efforts to strengthen the supply chain for nuclear propulsion and French deterrence,” said Loïc Rocard, CEO of TechnicAtome.
