Framatome has signed a long-term contract with Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) to supply nuclear fuel assemblies to the Olkiluoto 3 (OL3) EPR in Finland. The agreement secures fuel deliveries for eight years of OL3 operation, reinforcing Framatome's role as a trusted partner in ensuring reliable and efficient nuclear power generation.
This new contract further strengthens a longstanding partnership between Framatome and TVO, built over more than 30 years of collaboration in nuclear fuel supply for Olkiluoto's boiling water reactors and the EPR.

In addition to ensuring long-term fuel supply, the agreement provides TVO with the option to transition to Framatome's advanced GAIA fuel design, once the necessary licensing activities for reload quantities are completed. The GAIA design represents Framatome's latest innovation in fuel technology, offering enhanced performance, flexibility, and operational efficiency.

As part of the agreement, Framatome will also deliver tailored fuel engineering services to support TVO's operational needs. These services aim to contribute to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the OL3 EPR.
The OL3 EPR is one of the world's most powerful nuclear reactors. Through their regular electricity generation, the three reactors of the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant produce approximately 30% of Finland's annual electricity consumption, equivalent to the yearly consumption of around 1.3 million households, playing a critical role in the country's low-carbon energy supply.
