MediaConnect, PARIS, XX [MK1] October 2026, GAC has taken the stage at the 91st Paris Motor Show, which opened this week, with a refreshing idea: engineering quality should be something European drivers can see and feel in daily life. The Chinese automaker is presenting six flagship models, including the AION UT a compact battery-electric hatchback and the AION V family SUV, alongside two global debuts: the AION UT Cross, a new model,  and GAC CARE+, a new service brand that extends GAC's offer to service beyond the vehicle itself.

The company also unveiled GAC. THE ENGINEERS, the brand platform GAC will now across Europe. The company points to nearly three decades of automotive experience and cumulative production and sales of 30 million vehicles, a milestone it reached on this summer.

“GAC. THE ENGINEERS comes from our brand spirit, Crafted by the Driven,” says Wei Haigang, President of GAC International. Wei was present at the Motor Show alongside senior officials and guests.  "It's about GAC's relentless pursuit of detail, our firm commitment to standards and our focus on long-term value.

“Through more than 20 years of joint-venture experience, combined with China's leading new energy technology, GAC brings together world-class reliability and China's leading smart technology. And we're bringing those global standards and that know-how to Europe.”

From the Paris commute to a weekend outside the city

The AION UT is GAC's lead vehicle in Paris. It’s compact format is sized for narrow streets and curbside parking, at the same time GAC positions it for a second life at the weekend. Its 440-litre boot expands to 1,600 litres with the rear seats folded[2] , enough for light gear such as a picnic basket, folding chairs or a camera bag.

GAC calls this "casual outdoor" living: a lifestyle use covering trips from the city to a nearby park or riverbank, short leisure outings and a break while parked. A 60 kWh battery provides a WLTP range of 430km, and fast charging from 30% to 80% takes no more than 24 minutes, so a recharge fits easily into the return journey. [3]

Wei Haigang explains how the automaker squeezed two concepts into one: “A car that has to commute in European cities must keep its size in check, but it can't compromise on space. The weekend works by a different logic, so we made a 440-litre trunk, added 24 storage spaces and the two front seats fold completely flat, so you can lie down for a rest. City compactness and countryside ease were always a contradiction, and the job of GAC's engineers is to erase that contradiction: one car, two lifestyles.”[4]

The AION V adds a family perspective. The SUV offers a WLTP range of more than 510 km and a 600-litre boot that grows to 1,837 litres with the seats folded.[MK5]  [6] The AION UT Cross, making its global debut in Paris, has a distinct crossover and outdoor character. Both the AION UT and AION V are manufactured in Europe and have received five-star Euro NCAP safety ratings.

Here to stay

GAC says it is not coming to Europe simply to sell vehicles. Its Milan Advanced Design Centre is in operation, and its Graz facility in Austria, developed in partnership with Magna, has begun production, enabling European manufacturing of the AION V and AION UT. A European supplier network and a parts distribution centre in Rotterdam provide local support. GAC has entered 30 markets, including the United Kingdom, Spain and France, and plans to establish more than 180 sales and service outlets by the end if the year. It also plans to establish a European R&D centre, slated for 2027.

Cutomer Care at the Heart of the GAC Experience

GAC CARE+ makes its global debut in Paris under the promise "Always There, Always Care."

“We offer an extra-long 8-year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty,” says Wei Haigang confirming GAC’s commitment to its customers. “And an 8-year or 200,000 km power battery warranty, plus a 10-year unlimited-mileage anti-corrosion warranty and a 3-year unlimited-mileage paint warranty. More convenient after-sales as well as local-language call centres, with native-speaker agents handling every question.”

[MK1]To be completed, depending on publication date

[2]it is not mentioned on the latest key message doc, so would be better not to mention here
[3]need to clarify whether this refers to the AION UT or the UT Cross. If it is the UT Cross, the range should be 400 km, and if UT then should be 430km
[4]The description here should be UT cross. It should not be mixed up with the one above and below, as that could cause ambiguity
 [MK5]Is this confirmed?
[6]it is not mentioned on the latest key message doc, so would be better not to mention here
 [MK7]And contact details too
