Faced with the explosion of fake news, it was imperative for the AFP to contribute to the fight against disinformation.
The AFP, a historical bastion of factual reporting, launched its "Digital courses" a few months ago. These online courses aim to enable journalists and journalism students to enhance their skills in digital investigation.
Videos, quizzes, and exercises enrich this comprehensive toolkit. The training consists of about ten modules, available in both French and English, and is validated with a certificate.
Grégoire Lemarchand and Sophie Nicholson are respectively the editor-in-chief and deputy editor-in-chief of digital investigation at AFP. In this new episode, they discuss the genesis of the project.
More broadly, they discuss their vision of their role and how AFP, as a global news agency and media enterprise, has deployed resources to achieve its goals in combating disinformation.
