Open to all, the Festival will be made up of a high‑level conference (Forum), an exhibition of projects and prototypes (Fair), as well as cultural performances (Fest), hands‑on workshops and guided tours of redeveloped neighbourhoods.
The Festival in the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels will take place in parallel with satellite events organised across Europe and beyond, in this way connecting local experiences with European and global perspectives.
Festival highlights
- At the Forum, EU leaders including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa will join experts from international organisations, governments and academia, renowned thinkers like Johan Rockström and Carlo Ratti, as well as practitioners from architecture, design, science, and civil society. Together, they will explore how democracy, sustainability and design are shaping Europe’s future living environments.
- Nearly 80 exhibitors will showcase their projects and prototypes at the Fair, including construction and insulation panels manufactured from agricultural waste, furniture made from olive residues, or tiles produced from oyster shells and seaweed.
- Dancers, singers, musicians and craftspeople will take to the stage each day, sharing their ideas and creativity at the Fest. As well as the onsite programme, a series of film screenings is being organised in collaboration with BOZAR (Brussels' Centre for Fine Arts).
