As part of its mission to make European information more accessible, understandable and trustworthy, ChatEurope is integrating Eurostat, the European Union’s official statistical office, into its database of verified sources. This new addition enables the chatbot to draw on reliable European statistics covering society, the economy and the environment, allowing users to explore and compare developments across EU Member States and candidate countries.
At the heart of ChatEurope is a commitment to trust, transparency and quality journalism. Unlike general AI tools, the ChatEurope chatbot does not search the open internet. Instead, it generates responses exclusively from a closed database of verified content. When it is relevant, the chatbot offers users to get more elements of answer from Eurostat data. Each answer then clearly references the underlying sources, allowing users to verify information and better understand the context behind European decisions and developments.
A European collaboration for reliable information
Making Europe easier to understand
The project’s mission is to strengthen media literacy, counter misinformation and help citizens understand how European decisions are made and how they affect communities across Europe. By bringing together trusted journalism and innovative technology, ChatEurope aims to create a more transparent and accessible digital information space for European citizens.
