“The theme of this season is how to show the female body, which I have been trying to do since I started the brand,” Emi Funayama, the designer of the ready-to-wear label, said after the presentation.
“Everyone has their own unique beauty that is different from others,” Funayama said.
“There is a sense that expressing this as their own charm makes life easier. That is the kind of clothes I wanted to create for this collection,” she added.
Female models wearing leotard-like garments, maxi skirts and extremely low neck dresses paraded in a dim hall lit by a disco mirror ball from the ceiling. Their clothes were made of a variety of fabrics ranging from see-through materials to denim and lace.
FETICO became the first grand-prix winner of the JFW NEXT BRAND AWARD physical division, launched by JFWO last year as part of its program to support designers with a potential to make the world their stage.
The label also won the Tokyo Fashion Award 2023 along with other Tokyo based brands such as VIVIANO, TENDER PERSON and IRENISA.
