Framatome has completed the acquisition of the remaining stake in Reaktortest s.r.o., a company specializing in non-destructive examination (NDE) based in Slovakia. This transaction enables Framatome to strengthen its long-term presence in the inspection and NDE services market for VVER reactor operators in Central and Eastern Europe, while consolidating its longstanding relationship with Slovak utility, Slovenské Elektrárne (SE).
Founded in 1991 as a joint venture by Framatome and SE, Reaktortest primarily supports SE with in-service vessel inspections, quality monitoring during the construction of Mochovce units 3 and 4, as well as the qualification and certification of NDE teams. The company also provides technical inspection services for international projects, including in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other EU countries.
“Acquiring full ownership of Reaktortest enhances our global footprint in inspection and non-destructive examinations,” said Guirec Maugat, Senior Executive Vice President of Framatome's Installed Base Business Unit. “It also preserves our close relationship with Slovenské Elektrárne for the long term and enables us to extend our non-destructive examination expertise to other VVER operators across Central and Eastern Europe.”
Over the coming months, Reaktortest will focus on delivering inspection services through to the completion of Mochovce 4, NDE of operating units in Slovakia, and developing similar services for new customers, as well as developing new offerings to meet the growing needs of the VVER market.
