NRG PALLAS has selected Framatome to deliver the first reactor protection system (FRPS) for the PALLAS new reactor for the production of medical isotopes and nuclear research, currently under construction in Petten, Netherlands.
The FRPS is a key I&C safety system designed to monitor reactor parameters and initiate protective actions when required, thereby ensuring the highest levels of operational safety and reliability for medical isotope production.
As part of this project, Framatome will deploy the latest generation of its TXS Core digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) platform. The solution will include two innovative I&C systems, specifically designed to enable high-speed data logging of critical signals which improves operator analysis resulting in reduced plant down time.
