As part of the French LOM Law, which requires the electrification of at least 5% of car parks, AccorInvest, Europe's leading hotel owner and operator, is actively committed to providing high-performance charging solutions to its customers and visitors. In collaboration with GreenYellow, leader in the decentralized energy transition, an ambitious project of 36 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) deployment sites has been launched since 2023, representing more than 200 charging points.

AN INFRASTRUCTURE AT THE SERVICE OF THE ENERGY TRANSITION
Since the signing of a framework agreement in July 2022, nearly 25 sites have been equipped with charging stations, including 5 featuring a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), spread across the French territory. These stations, comprising nearly 130 charging points of different powers (low, fast and high power), meet users' needs with state-of-the-art technology. A dozen new sites should be operational by mid-2025.

INNOVATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF SERVICES
Of the 36 sites planned, 10 stations will eventually integrate energy storage batteries (BESS), representing a total installed capacity of 2 MWh. These batteries play a key role in providing buffer power, which reduces the connection power required with ENEDIS at low voltage. This speeds up the commissioning of the stations by bypassing connection constraints and limits the footprint of the car parks.
At the same time, these storage systems optimize energy consumption by adapting to peaks in demand. They offer maximum flexibility in response to fluctuations in the electricity market while at the same time increasing the reliability of the stations. These scalable infrastructures are designed to meet future needs, guaranteeing adaptability in the face of changing energy uses and consumption.

To ensure a smooth client experience, several payment methods have also been deployed:
  • Credit card readers
  • QR codes
  • Mobile Apps
  • Connection via an interoperability platform

A clear display of prices has finally been designed for total transparency, in accordance with the recommendations of the Competition Authority of June 2024.

A PARTNERSHIP THAT REFLECTS ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Since the summer of 2024, the AccorInvest network has observed a steady increase in electric vehicle charging, testifying to the adoption by users and the success of this initiative. For AccorInvest, this partnership with GreenYellow is part of the deployment of its ESG strategy, through which the Group aims to redefine the role of its hotels in society.
Much more than just places of passage, AccorInvest wants to transform its establishments into key players in the environmental transition and territorial development. It is with this in mind that the Group forges strong links with local economic players and implements services for the benefit of communities, as evidenced by this partnership with GreenYellow.

Nicolas ULMANN, Director of Innovation & New Activities at GreenYellow France: "This EVCS project in partnership with the AccorInvest Group is a key step in our ambition to transform electric mobility in France. The integration of battery storage (BESS) in 10 stations is also a real lever for innovation. These systems not only address today's challenges, such as grid power limits or faster commissioning times, but also foreshadow the global energy system of tomorrow. They embody our vision of sustainable and flexible infrastructure, which is essential to support the transition to large-scale electric mobility. »

Franck BERMOND – Construction and ESG Director at AccorInvest: "This partnership with GreenYellow is fully in line with our ESG strategy, which aims to promote positive hospitality: offering our customers concrete solutions for more environmentally friendly mobility is part of it. Thanks to GreenYellow's expertise, we have deployed a high-performance charging network, accessible not only to our customers, but also to residents and passing visitors. This collaboration illustrates our ambition to make the hotel a key player in the ecological transition. »
