GREENYELLOW ANNOUNCES THE COMMISSIONING OF A GROUND-MOUNTED SOLAR PLANT IN MILAGRES, IN THE INTERIOR OF BAHIA (Brazil)
GreenYellow, an international leader in decentralized energy transition, announces the commissioning of a new 6.93 MWp ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant in Milagres, in the interior of Bahia, Brazil. This ambitious solar project #SHIFTProduction will generate 12.4 GWh of energy annually, equivalent to the consumption of 6,200 households, while avoiding the emission of more than 530 tons of CO2 annually. In addition, GreenYellow has provided a solar roof for the municipality and equipment for a local daycare, enhancing the social and environmental impact of the initiative. This project illustrates the company's commitment to a more sustainable future by combining clean energy with support for local authorities.
The plant, with an installed capacity of 6.93 MWc, will produce 12.4 GWh of energy annually, enough to power more than 6,200 households. In terms of environmental impact, the plant will avoid the emission of over 530 tons of CO2 per year, actively contributing to the decarbonization of the region. The project covers an area of 14 hectares and includes the installation of 11,200 photovoltaic modules.
A strengthened positive impact for Milagres
To enhance its local impact, GreenYellow Do Brasil has also taken the initiative to carry out several solidarity actions alongside the project. The company donated a solar roof to the municipality, installed on an administrative building, as well as tables and benches made from recycled materials from the construction of the plant, intended for a local daycare center. This solar roof, with an annual production capacity of 37.2 MWh, will reduce CO2 emissions by 1.4 tons each year.
A commemorative ceremony to mark this milestone
To celebrate this milestone project, a commemorative plaque ceremony was held at the town hall of Milagres. The mayor of the city, Cézar de Adério, stated: "The inauguration of the solar power plant is a historic step for Milagres. This partnership with GreenYellow Do Brasil represents our commitment to the future, bringing clean energy, sustainability, and economic development to our city. We are proud to see Milagres and the entire region progress more and more."
GreenYellow Do Brasil, a key player in the energy transition and support for local authorities in Brazil
This is not the first time that GreenYellow Do Brasil has engaged with local authorities. In 2024, the company organized educational conferences for 350 children at a municipal school in Cajuru, São Paulo, and carried out reforestation activities with children in Américo de Campos. These actions are part of GreenYellow Group’s overall commitment to promote high-value projects, both socially and environmentally, through its annual EcoDay initiative and other sustainable development projects.
