The revelations hit like an explosion.

Accusations of rape and sexual assault against psychoanalyst Gérard Miller surfaced in January. These testimonies, collected and published by the magazine "ELLE", marked the starting point of the case, which now includes several dozen accusations.

Written by Cécile Ollivier and Alice Augustin, the investigation also underscored the female magazine’s ambition: to pursue a more societal editorial line in a post-#MeToo world.

This direction is led by Ava Djamshidi, former senior reporter at Le Parisien and now editor-in-chief at ELLE. Under the guidance of Véronique Philipponnat, magazine director and this week’s guest on our podcast.

Emblematic and historic, the title launched in 1945 by Hélène Lazareff now claims nearly 10 million monthly readers worldwide.

Episode topics include:

  • The reasons behind the magazine’s editorial shift

  • Its transgenerational vision of feminism

  • The international expansion of the brand

  • The magazine’s economic health
