The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about how MediaConnect ("MediaConnect" or "we") collects, processes and shares your personal data.
This Privacy Policy applies to data that we may collect about you in your capacity as:
- Client or prospect,
- Journalist/freelancer or blogger/influencer ("Journalist")
- User of our Platform, whether as a client, Journalist or visitor.
The MediaConnect Platform as mentioned in this Privacy Policy is accessible through the following website in its classic and mobile version (hereafter, the "Platform"): www.mediaconnect.com
1. The data we collect
We may collect the data listed below in your capacity as a client, prospect, Journalist and/or in the course of your use of the Platform. Note that we never solicit the communication of sensitive data (or “special categories of data” as defined by law) and we ask that you do not transmit such data to us.
1.1 Information you provide us
1.1.1 As a client: When you subscribe to our services as a client or for a test, you will be asked to communicate us all or part of the following data on one or more persons of your company: title, name, e-mail address, telephone number, position within the company, acceptance of the Platform's T&Cs and acceptance or refusal to be kept informed by e-mail of new products and offers from MediaConnect and its subsidiaries.
1.1.2 As a Journalist: When you subscribe to our services, you will be asked to communicate us all or part of the following data: title, name, profession (journalist/freelancer or blogger/influencer), e-mail address, phone number, country of residence. The number of the press card of journalists may also be requested for the purpose of verifying the position.
1.1.3 As a user of our Platform: you are likely to provide us with certain information:
- If you wish to contact us via forms in order to subscribe to MediaConnect as a client or Journalist, to receive information, register for events, send us information, apply for a job at MediaConnect or for any other reason, you will need to provide us with some or all of the following data: title, name, e-mail address, your company’s name and postal address, sector of activity, phone number, subject and content of the message, and whether you agree to be kept informed by e-mail of new products and offers from MediaConnect.
- If you wish to report an incident via the downloadable form on the Platform: name, e-mail address, phone number, login ID, connection server number, type of browser you are using, type of computer, date/time and any other information related to the incident.
- If your client account allows you to create multiple individual accounts for users within your organization, the following information about authorized users will be provided by you in your capacity as account administrator: name, email address, rights granted.
- Where applicable, your responses to questionnaires, opinions or surveys that we may send you for the purpose of improving our services or your user experience.
1.2 Information we collect
1.2.1 About our prospects: In the course of prospecting, we may collect your business contact information in order to offer you certain products or services that we believe may be of interest to you, based on your job and your company's activity. This data may be collected in various ways: at events (trade shows, workshops, etc.), through the data you share on the Internet (LinkedIn, etc.) or through access to professional contact lists, in which case the list provider must undertake to comply with the law regarding the sharing of your data for the purposes of commercial communications on our part.
1.2.2 On Journalists: We may collect your professional contact data in order to offer you a subscription to our services or to allow our clients to send you press releases directly. This data may be collected in a number of ways: through the data you share on the internet (LinkedIn, etc.) or through access to professional contact lists, in which case the list provider must agree to legally comply with the sharing of your data for the purposes of commercial communications or the transmission of press releases by our clients.
1.2.3 During each of your visits to our Platform, we may collect the following data:
- Data relating to the press releases you send and more generally to the use of your account as a client.
- Data relating to your preferences, to the press releases sent to you (Journalists) and to your other actions on the Platform: interface language, country of interest, reference of the user's start page, date of acceptance of the TOS and IP address of the device having accepted the TOS, etc.
- Data relating to the devices, networks and platforms you use: identifier of the device you are using (IP address, Apple ID, Android ID, etc.), connection data (date, time, duration), type and version of browser software (Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.), type of operating system (Microsoft Windows, Apple Os, Linux, Unix, etc.)
- Data relating to your browsing: browsing on the Platform pages, content you access and consult, duration of consultation of certain pages, searches and search results, information relating to the reactivity of clicks and generally your actions on the Platform.
- Information about whether or not you read the emails we send you and whether you click on the links in those emails.

2. Purposes of data processing

4. Data transfers to third parties
4.1 Cases in which transfers may be made
We keep your data within MediaConnect, except in certain cases defined below.
• Third parties with whom we collaborate may have access to your personal data: in particular the subcontractors we use in relation to some technical, commercial, marketing, legal and e-mail services.
We ensure that the recipients / subcontractors concerned comply with the applicable obligations in terms of personal data protection. In particular, your data may not be processed for purposes other than those set out in section 2 above.
• We may transfer your data if it appears necessary to (i) enforce any contract, TOS and this Privacy Policy, (ii) respond to any claim against MediaConnect or any of our business partners, (iii) comply with any judicial request, including in the context investigations and inquiries (iv) in the event of an emergency that threatens public health or the physical safety of any person, (v) to protect the rights, property and safety of MediaConnect, you and others.
• We may transfer your data to MediaConnect subsidiaries and/or a third party entity in the event of a reorganization of MediaConnect (e.g., merger, acquisition, etc.).
4.2 Places to which transfers can be made
We strive to host and keep your data within the European Union. However, data may be transferred to countries outside of the European Union, some of which may have a less protective legislation relating to personal data than that applicable within the European Union.
This is the case for data transferred to some of our subcontractors located outside the European Union, which we may use for certain specific services.
When such a transfer takes place, we make sure that it is implemented through legal instruments allowing the recipients of the data to comply with all obligations applicable within the European Union with regard to data processing (European Commission standard contractual clauses), in order to ensure individuals a sufficient level of privacy..
5. Commercial communications by email
We may send you, in accordance with applicable law, the MediaConnect newsletter, marketing, advertising and promotional messages about MediaConnect products, services or events that may interest you.

6. The implementation of your rights on your personal data
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data that we hold, as well as their rectification or erasure. You can also ask us to restrict a processing or oppose a processing. Note, however, that in the latter two cases, your access to all or part of the Platform and/or the services may be affected.
You can request to exercise your right to data portability, i.e. the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured format, in order to transmit such data to another data controller.
You may also formulate special instructions regarding the fate of your personal data after your death.
In each of the above cases, we may, in order to respond to your request, (i) verify your identity and (ii) ask you to provide additional information.
Please note that we may retain certain information where we are required to do so by law or where we have a legitimate reason to do so.
