Framatome and Gammatom are pleased to announce a contract to modernize a critical system at Gammatom`s Sterilization Facility in Como, Italy.
Gamma sterilization facilities irradiate sealed healthcare products such as implants, surgical materials and medication and sterilize them before use in patient treatments. Gammatom's facility is pivotal in securing the reliable supply of these products across Europe.
In early 2025, Framatome and Gammatom explored technologies to modernize and boost production at the unique and high potential facility. The modernization will include technology upgrades to the entire automation and conveyor systems to improve operational efficiency with a safer, more modern design.

Framatome brings expertise in nuclear engineering, automation systems and source handling, radiation expertise and material qualification for high radiation environments, to the project.
