Studies follow one another and are similar: women in tech are underrepresented, feel underpaid (67%), and report experiencing sexism (49.5%) [Web Summit 2022 figures]...
Among the causes: stereotypes, a crisis of representation, education, or the fear of being in a minority among men.
Last year in France, the French Tech Mission launched the "Parity Pact", now signed by around 160 startups, for more gender equality in the ecosystem.
Among their commitments: achieving a minimum of 20% of women in their board of directors by 2025 or training 100% of managers on diversity issues and fighting discrimination. A text championed by Clara Chappaz, director of the French Tech Mission, who is our podcast guest this week.
An opportunity to assess the progress made with her. And to ask this question: should we be more coercive, rely on legislators (see the Copé-Zimmermann law of 2011) to achieve results in this regard?
