MediaConnect podcasts are back! New season, new name. Now, things are moving, yes... but "media on the move."

This week, we met Hervé Poirier, editor-in-chief and founder of the scientific journal Epsiloon. A decidedly "pop" scientific magazine that aims to shake up the genre.

As a reminder, the journalist and his team walked out of Science & Vie in 2021 due to editorial independence issues.

Today, with their 35,000 subscribers, their ambition is to make Epsiloon "the reference journal for French-speaking scientific culture."

In this episode, Hervé Poirier shares his vision of journalism. For him, informing should be done through the transmission of emotions. The editor-in-chief also believes that journalists should reject the position of the expert and place themselves below the reader.

Epsiloon also holds a historical record of crowdfunding on the Ulule platform. And to this day, 95% of the magazine's revenue comes from subscribers. For Hervé Poirier, transparency is an absolute necessity to build trust with the reader.
