This week, let's embark on the circular economy train of fashion. With Sophie Pignères, founder of the startup Weturn, specializing in coordinating the recycling of unsold and surplus stocks from the textile industry.
These reclaimed materials, transformed into yarn spools, are intended for the production of new textiles and thus destined to live a new life.
In a way, the young shoot, launched in 2020, will have taken the lead from the AGEC law (anti-waste law for a circular economy), which came into force on January 1, 2022, and now prohibits textile brands from destroying their unsold items.
Weturn now works with various types of market actors, ranging from mid-range to premium, including some houses within the LVMH group.
