In France, heart failure is associated with 70,000 deaths each year and affects more than one million people (French Federation of Cardiology).

Faced with this pathology, the startup CorWave has developed a next-generation cardiac pump.

Unlike traditional devices, this one has been designed to adapt to the patient's level of physical activity. A biomimetic technology, inspired by the undulatory swimming of marine animals, allowing the pump membrane to undulate smoothly.

The hope that CorWave arouses is such that the European Commission, through its EIC Fund, has even invested 2.5 million euros in the project. The first investment of the institution in a private company.

Expected to be commercialized within a few years, its CEO, Louis de Lillers, tells us more about this groundbreaking technology.
