You may remember this TF1 segment that made a lasting impression:
To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the network broadcast an immersive re-enactment, using CGI, of the June 6, 1944 battles during its evening news program.
Using augmented, virtual, and mixed reality, TF1 seeks to push the boundaries of journalistic storytelling—bringing to life topics that were once difficult to film due to their relation to the past, future, or the infinitely small.
These formats are highly engaging for audiences. The piece on “planetary boundaries” exceeded 15 million views (TV + social media), while the one on the history of climate change was named Best Video of the Year by the World Association of News Publishers.
Yani Khezzar, Head of News Innovation at TF1, is the guest on our podcast Ça bouge dans les médias. A 15–20 minute interview to help you better understand the issues at stake.
